About the book:Propelled From Inside: Breaking the Glass Ceiling
This is a truly inspiring book of hope, resilience and refusal to give up and be swayed by vicissitudes of life; told by a Rural African woman from South Africa. It demonstrates that inner strength and resolve to accomplish one's dreams is bound to succeed only if one uses his or her unique talent which no one in the world possesses, which means that the first step in life is to discover thyself and stay focussed on your own vision. Her foundational steps in the village gave her good grounding of ethical behaviour, trust and hard work which later in life helped her to become an inspirational leader.
It gives practical experiences of how she overcame corporate and personal challenges like her fierce divorce that threatened her very existence, being fired from an executive position ( a sole bread winner of three ) and almost dying due to post delivery complications; by building her resilience through learning from overcoming every life stage challenge, which is referred to as climbing mountains figuratively and literally due to the fact that she climbed Mt Kilimanjaro at the age of 50 years through the most difficult route to boost her inner power when changing her career to an Executive position.
The book is engaging and forces the reader to reflect on own life and use the lessons learned to sharpen own skills. It is a must for leaders who aspire to build high performing teams , young professionals who must navigate through corporate challenges and communities at large who want to build 'Communities of Practice of Positivity' and start reshaping the national culture, broke due to corruption, poor leadership and greed.
