About the book: Saved by the King: A journey of self discovery from Menkhoaneng to Thaba Bosiu
Poignant, gripping and at times humorous, this book takes the reader on an epic adventure that connects the present to the past. It tells the story of the author’s angst at turning forty and her decision to take part in the arduous Moshoeshoe Walk, an annual three-day hike from Menkhoaneng to Thaba Bosiu in Lesotho. The experience is unlike anything she had imagined, and forever transforms her outlook on life. The journey retraces the 1824 migration of King Moshoeshoe I as he led his people to their new home in Thaba Bosiu, and it is through this link that the author delves into historical explorations alongside her personal journey.
