It's only natural that you'd want to blend some of that delicious Mzansi-flava into your writing, and we encourage it wholeheartedly. (Un?)Surprisingly, the exact dialect with which you write your book can have repercussions. Have you noticed the ENG-US button at the bottom of Word (and in most other word processing software?) Most people just shrug, thinking "Ugh, what's the difference? English is English, right?"

For those looking to explore the local market for children's literature this event is just for you.

The 2017 South African Children's Bookfair is promising to be a one-stop event for authors, publishers, illustrators and other industry professionals. Exhibitions, workshops and book launches promise to make it well worth the trip into Boksburg.

Unfortunately, exact details on the speaker lineup, exhibitions and workshops seems to be a bit sparse at  the moment. I have asked the event organizer for a bit more detail and will update this post once I have it.
